2024 Re-Election Priorities

Sustainability 🌎

Nadia believes that Beaverton’s commitment to sustainability is what makes this a great place to live and work. She knows that the climate crisis is urgent and requires immediate policy action.

On city council, she’s fought to make increasing tree canopy a council priority and removed parking minimums as part of Climate Equitable and Friendly Communities

She supports conserving our natural resources, further increasing tree canopy in Beaverton’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, and investing in sustainable infrastructure such as electric vehicle charging stations and public transportation.

Housing 🏘

Nadia knows that Beaverton has attracted people from all over the world to relocate here because of the proximity of career-track jobs, incredible parks, safe streets, quality schools and friendly neighbors. She believes these communities add to the vibrancy and vitality of the city.

Nadia believes that housing is a human right and that everyone in Beaverton should have access to housing that they can afford to stay in.  On city council, she’s worked to direct $2.3 million in affordable housing investments, and to create a new shelter for residents experiencing homelessness, opening this year.

She supports increasing renter protections, middle housing initiatives along with strategies to support multigenerational living like ADUs and further investments in affordable housing in Beaverton.

Transportation 🚲

Nadia believes in a collaborative and multi pronged approach to transportation. She believes everyone, whether they have access to a car or not, should be able to get where they need to go in Beaverton.

On city council, she advocated and passed the Complete Streets policy with an emphasis on biking, walking, sidewalks and public transportation. As a Metro Policy Advisory Commission commissioner, she championed passage of the regional transportation plan for the greater Metro area for Washington, Multnomah and Clackamas Counties.

She supports investments in sustainable solutions to improve Beaverton roads, sidewalks, and public transportation options.

Economic Stability 💰

Nadia believes Beaverton can be a place where everyone thrives, from working families and small businesses to medium and large companies. She believes everyone should be able to afford to live and work in Beaverton if they choose to.

On city council, she invested $2 million into business recovery and adopted the Downtown Equity Strategy to guide city redevelopment efforts. She championed Business Improvement Grants to continue our support for local businesses to thrive in Beaverton.

She supports making Beaverton a more competitive destination for arts, culture, cuisine and entertainment, prioritizing more services for Beaverton job seekers, and expanding development support for emerging entrepreneurs.

Access to Government 🏛

Nadia believes that our democracy depends on the inclusion of all communities in the decision-making process. She believes that many of the challenges confronting our community stem from misconceptions about how decisions are made. She understands the importance of including seniors, children, college students, small business owners, working families, and homeowners in governmental decisions.

On council, Nadia has advocated for greater transparency in government operations to rebuild public trust. She regularly meets with constituents and community groups to hear concerns and ideas.

She supports community education and works to demystify Beaverton’s new governance structure.
